Charlton Condo Fort Lee, NJ Rooftop The Charlton Condominium complex is located in Fort Lee, NJ about one mile from the George Washington Bridge. These two tennis courts are located on the roof of a five story parking garage. For the past 10 years or so the concrete deck was covered with an artificial grass surface filled with sand. Through the years the grass surface collected mold, became extremely hard for players to play on, and was not keeping the concrete deck waterproof. In June of 2009 the owner approached Classic Turf Company and was looking for a tennis court surface that could bridge existing expansion and control joints, waterproof the concrete deck, and provide a soft comfortable surface for the players to play on. The only solution was the Classic Turf System. The existing artificial grass was removed, new portable net posts were installed, minor concrete repair was needed, and then the Classic Turf System was installed and glued down 100% to the existing concrete slab.
